That True Grit Look of Parenthood

File's a bit big, so you have to click on it to make it play. Sorry.

I haven't had that much fun at the movies in quite some time. I saw the John Wayne original many years ago, so I didn't remember many of the details; therefore, the story was basically new to me. The acting was outstanding. I can see Jeff Bridges and Hailee Steinfeld both winning several awards this spring.

The book by Charles Portis is also excellent, and a quick read. It's told in the first-person of Mattie. Da-da has always loved the character of Rooster Cogburn... well, truth-be-told, Da-da IS Rooster Cogburn.

Note that there's also a third movie called, "Rooster Cogburn and the Lady," with John Wayne reprising the role and Katherine Hepburn basically playing the same character as she played in, "The African Queen." Same plot, too, but with Rooster.
